Brigit's Garden 2021
The art collection "Bright's Garden" delves into the intertwined histories of Paganism and Christianity in the region, drawing on local folklore and the goddess Brigit for inspiration. The pieces in the collection are informed by the discovery of Iron Age remains at the entrance of High Pasture Cave, and explore themes of motherhood and femininity through a range of mediums such as paintings, textiles, and drawings. The lilies at the heart of the exhibit symbolise the triple goddess and honour Brigit, while the inclusion of campion flowers pays homage to the natural beauty of this area. Overall, the collection celebrates the powerful bond between mothers and daughters.
