Tides And Blooms

"Tides and Blooms" is more than an exhibition; it is a sharing of life's essence, an exploration of how we might live in greater harmony with our planet and with each other. Through my work, I seek to honour the traditions that have cradled humanity through time, celebrating the turn of the year and reflecting on our collective journey.

Recently, my inspiration has broadened to encompass the wisdom of ancient texts - from the Odyssey's epic tales to the bardic poetry of Ireland and the British Isles, and the profound verses of Nordic lore. These classical writings, rich with nature's metaphors and the cyclical understanding of existence, echo the sentiments of my own artistic explorations:

"Humans call it ‘Moon,’

Gods name it ‘Changer,’

In Hel, they whisper ‘Turning Wheel,’

Giants roar it as ‘Hurry,’

Dwarves admire ‘Shiny,’

While elves revere it ‘Year Changer.’"

From the Poetic Edda, these lines encapsulate the essence of my work: a perpetual transformation, a celebration of the natural world's ebb and flow, and an invitation to find our place within this beautiful, ever-changing tapestry. "Tides and Blooms" is an ode to this journey, an offering to the soul that seeks connection, meaning, and a deeper harmony with the pulse of the earth.
