In my 2016, 2017 and 2018 Ceremonial projects, I seek to merge ancient traditions from the East and West in order to create a unique and immersive experience for the viewer. These performances, which take place annually on my birthday, delve into themes such as ritual, the five senses, healing, time, and natural cycles. As I draw inspiration from various societies and their cultural practices, I incorporate a range of materials and props such as oats, oyster shells, honey, wax, oil, milk, bells, candles, incense, white pyjamas, yellow kurtas, and cardinal points into my art. I also create sculptural forms specifically for each ceremony, bringing together these diverse elements to create a multisensory journey for the audience.
