Traditionally Drones are viewed as lazy bees that eat all the honey stores, they have one purpose to their existence and that is to inseminate the queen! Others believe that one of the tasks assigned to the drones is one of timing, they are the ‘Barometers of the hive.’ Another view is that they keep the brood (the young) warm. So, this is my homage to the male of the species. A sound installation which included ceramic hives, human and insect voices, healing 'bhasma' and wax impregnated sack cloth.
